📢 The 2026 ERC Synergy grant round is open!
The ERC Synergy grants:
– support group of 2 to 4 PIs carrying out innovative, multidisciplinary and groundbreaking projects which could not be achieved by 1 PI and their team.
– provide up to €10 million for a period of up 6 years (with possibility of up to €4 million additional funding)
This grant is highly sought after and competitive so you should not rush writing your proposal within the last month if you want your application to be a winning bid.
Eligibility:
– ERC Synergy grants will support 2 to 4 PIs with competitive track records
– Open to researchers of any nationality who intend to conduct their research activity in any Member State or Associated Country
– PIs can be hosted by any legal entity in an EU Member State or associated country.
– PIs must spend a min of 30% on the ERC Synergy grant project
– PIs must spend a min of 50% of their time in a Member State or Associated Country
– ⚠️ Restriction on resubmission: Synergy Grant applicants who have obtained a score of ‘B’ in Step 1 of the Synergy Grant 2025 call are not eligible to apply to the 2026 round.
